We encourage you to adapt the lessons to suit the needs of your students. All Lyfta lesson plans can be edited if you have a premium subscription.

Summary: Greece. Meet Kristos, the only child on the island of Arki, and the only child in his primary school. What is life like for this child in his last year of primary school? How is his life similar or different to yours? And what will happen when he leaves primary school? Transition to a new life is imminent for this young boy and the lesson explores how his teacher helps prepare him for these rather extreme changes...

Summary: Greece. Revisit Kristos as he travels to a neighbouring island to visit the secondary school. Discover how the visit goes, and whether Kristos is ready to make the change needed to step into this new chapter of his life. Consider journeys to school through a new lens and think about how pupils will make new journeys they can prepare for.

Summary: Greece. In this lesson, students in Year 6, or secondary school, will review Kristos’ decision to visit and later attend secondary school on a neighbouring island which takes him away from the rural life he has known on Arki. They will then develop a piece of writing which gives advice to other younger pupils about transition; or in the case of Year 6 learners, a shorter piece of writing listing their hopes and worries about transition, building on the previous lesson which initiates this discussion.

Lesson: Moving On

Assembly: Transition

Summary: Belgium. Explore the hopes and dreams of young teen Cansu, AKA Si-G: The Hip Hop Star, transitioning from a special school to a mainstream high school.
