The easiest way to end an active lesson is from your home screen.

Locate the lesson in the 'active lessons' bar and hit end.

Then click the red 'end lesson' button.

Tip: You can end lessons as soon as you've completed them from inside the active lesson view by clicking 'End lesson' on the top right of the screen
